The Ghana Maritime Authority (GMA) was named the “Most Innovative Other State Entity” at the 2026 Public Enterprises League Table (PELT) Awards, held in Accra.
The institution ranked 10th on the League Table with a strong performance score of 3.903, emphasising forward-thinking initiatives in the maritime sector.
A release copied to Ghana News Agency by the GMA described the achievement as a reflection of strategic oversight by the Board of Directors and the Authority’s dedication to excellence.
It added that it would continue to drive innovation and deliver value to the maritime sector and the nation.
Mr Seth Terkper, Presidential Adviser on the Economy, who was the Guest Speaker at the event held on Thursday, highlighted GMA’s innovation as a benchmark for other public entities.
The annual awards, organised by the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), recognise the performance and excellence of state-owned enterprises and specified entities across the country.
The Public Enterprises League Table Awards serve as a benchmark for assessing the performance of state institutions, promoting accountability, efficiency, and good corporate governance across the public sector.

This year’s ceremony was on the theme: “The state as a partner in progress: Leveraging public assets for shared responsibility.”
GOLDBOD emerged as the overall Specified Entity, in addition to two other recognitions: State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) of the Year, and Most Profitable SOE.
The Most Innovative SOE went to Consolidated Bank Ghana, while Tema Development Company (TDC) Ghana Limited was named Most Compliant SOE.
The rest were Other State Entity (OSE) of the Year – Environmental Protection Agency. Most Compliant OSE – Food and Drugs Authority. Most Efficient OSE – Ghana Highway Authority, and Most Consistent Dividend Paying SOE (Quantum) – Ghana Reinsurance PLC.
