The Inspired by Assor Foundation has held the second edition of its flagship empowerment program in the Fanteakwa South District, recognising academic excellence among 60 students from 14 schools.
Building on the momentum of last year’s launch, this year’s event aligned with the 2026 International Women’s Day theme, “Give to Gain,” offering mentorship and support to young learners from Saamang and Hemang.
The initiative is led by founder and CEO, Mrs. Nancy Assor Asiedu-Amrado, Head of Brands Management at AT and the 2022 National Brands Awards’ “Brand Personality of the Year.”

A native of the area with strong ties to Saamang and Hemang, Mrs. Assor Asiedu-Amrado frequently returns to the constituency to mentor women and young people, drawing on her professional journey shaped by hard work and faith.
She was joined by a distinguished panel of mentors such as Madam Stella Konadu, District Director of Health, Fanteakwa South, Madam Rebecca Essuman, School Improvement Support Officer, Osino West Circuit (representing the District Director of Education), and Madam Adelaide Essel, Public Health Officer, Fanteakwa South.

Others are Madam Dinah Aninagyei, Retired Educationist, Ms. Juliana Aninagyei, Professional Teacher, Gyampomani Basic School and Madam Clara Yaa Osei, NPP Women’s Organizer, Fanteakwa South.
Together, they encouraged students to view academic excellence as a foundation for a purposeful life.
The event drew traditional authorities from Saamang and Hemang, Rev. Richmond Frempong of Saamang Methodist Church, and Assemblyman Mr. Richmond Dankwa of Akyem Hemang. Also present were headteachers and educators from basic and junior high schools across the district.

In a show of inclusivity, the program honored outstanding boys alongside their female peers.
A total of 60 students, thus 46 girls and 14 boys, received certificates of achievement, school supplies, and sanitary pads for the girls to support menstrual hygiene management.
BECE candidates and JHS students also received free mathematical sets to aid in their examinations and academic work.
