TriBe Culture Fest, an international sports, culture and tourism platform, has partnered with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) to roll out a nationwide initiative aimed at bringing the 2026 FIFA World Cup experience to fans across all 16 regions of Ghana.
The project, dubbed “16 by 16″, would establish three high‑quality viewing centres in every region, offering supporters a chance to watch live matches, participate in cultural activities and engage in commercial activities.
Other partners of the initiative include the National Sports Authority, the Professional Football Association of Ghana (PFAG) and the Africa Centre for Hospitality Aviation and Tourism.
Nana Boateng Gyimah, the Chief Executive Officer of TriBe Culture Fest, said the aim was to take the World Cup “to the doorstep of all Ghanaian fans” through community‑based activations including soccer clinics, watch parties and exhibitions, both local and international.
“The intention is to sell the country’s culture, food and music, because this World Cup is not only about football. The goal is not only to win the World Cup trophy but also to let people know what the country is so we can attract visitors,” said Nana Gyimah.
Maame Efua Houadjeto, the Chief Executive Officer of GTA, speaking at the launch event in Accra, said the initiative was designed to create a national shared experience.
“We are igniting a national experience, the 16 by 16 project, a bold, inclusive and forward‑thinking activation designed to bring the FIFA World Cup closer to every Ghanaian.
“As much as Ghanaians are passionate about football, not everyone can travel to the World Cup. This project is dedicated to those who cannot make it, so they feel part of the celebrations,” she said.
Madam Houadjeto added that the activation aligns with GTA’s strategy to position tourism as a driver of cohesion and economic opportunity. “With 16 by 16, we are turning each region into a hub of activity where sports meet culture,” she said.
Mr Anthony Baffoe, PFAG’s General Secretary, said the association welcomed the initiative, describing it as an opportunity to rally support for the Black Stars.
“We are fully committed to this partnership, and we look forward to deepening its impact for the benefit of the players, fans and the country.
“Some of us have worn the Black Stars shirt, and we know how it feels. We must support the team as the World Cup approaches. We wish them the best in their upcoming friendlies,” Mr Baffoe said.
As part of the launch, TriBe Culture Fest unveiled a new World Cup information space at the Accra Sports Stadium, where fans can obtain details on tickets, accommodation and ground arrangements for the tournament.
The event concluded with a live screening of Ghana’s friendly match against Austria, which drew large crowds.
