The Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has announced the arrival of 100 brand-new 29-seater buses, marking the first step in a government initiative to alleviate the country’s recent public transport challenges.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, April 5, 2026, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu confirmed that the buses are part of a larger consignment of 300 vehicles procured to improve transport services and reduce pressure on commuters.
“Another batch of 100 will arrive in August, with the last batch of 100 arriving in November,” he stated.

The move comes in response to recent vehicle shortages that left many passengers stranded at terminals and bus stops across the country.
The government has been working to resolve the situation, with Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang previously assuring the public that measures are underway to address the disruptions.

Officials expect the first batch to provide immediate relief, while the subsequent deliveries in August and November will help further strengthen the nation’s public transport capacity.
