A 32-year-old enrolled nurse has died following a motorcycle accident while transporting medical supplies from the district capital to her community, health officials have confirmed.
The deceased, Nafisa Adama, was stationed at the Kusali CHPS Compound.
She was returning to Kusali, approximately 15 kilometres from Gwollu, when the incident occurred around 4 pm on Tuesday, May 12.

According to Rauf Bawa Basugu, Sissala West District Health Information Officer, heavy rainfall and strong winds began midway through her journey.
In the ensuing poor weather conditions, a motor tricycle travelling from the opposite direction lost control and collided head-on with Madam Nafisa’s motorcycle.
The deceased was carrying containers of drugs and other medical logistics intended for the Kusali community at the time of the crash.
Madam Nafisa sustained severe injuries and was transported to a medical facility for emergency treatment, but was pronounced dead approximately one hour later, Mr Basugu told the Ghana News Agency (GNA).
The health information officer further disclosed that the deceased was a mother of two and had been married just two weeks prior to the accident.
“We at the Ghana Health Service administration feel deeply saddened by her death,” Mr Basugu said. “If not for the medical logistics she came to transport from Gwollu, she probably would not have died.”
Madam Nafisa was originally posted to Gwollu in 2023 before her subsequent transfer to Kusali, where she served as the sole health professional attending to the healthcare needs of the community up until her death.
The Ghana Health Service has extended its condolences to her family and colleagues.
