The Ghanaian entertainment industry is mourning the sudden loss of actress Beverly Afaglo, following an official announcement by her husband, musician Choirmaster (real name Isaac Akowuah, also known as Praye Honeho), in the early hours of Sunday, May 24, 2026.
Choirmaster, a former member of the celebrated music group Praye, took to Instagram to share the devastating news, writing that his “heart is shattered beyond words.” He revealed that the actress died just four days before her birthday.
“My heart is shattered beyond words over the death of my beloved wife, Beverly Afaglo!!! It would have been just like 4 more days to your birthday, but I guess the Lord wanted to celebrate with you, so he called you,” the post read.
In an emotional tribute, Choirmaster described his late wife as his “strength,” “happiness,” and the reason his life felt complete. He further pledged to continue the plans and dreams they had started together. “Until my last breath, you will remain in my heart forever!!!” he added. “Sleep well, my babe!!!”
He referred to Beverly as “a Legend” and told his fans, known as Choristerz, that “we all lost a big one.”
As of press time, no official cause of death has been released by the family or the actress’s representatives.
Beverly Afaglo was a well-known figure in Ghana’s film and television industry, having starred in several popular dramas and movies.
She was admired for her on-screen charisma and her public bond with Choirmaster, with whom she often appeared at industry events.
