About 15 shops in Bekwai in the Ashanti Region have been destroyed by fire.
The incident is reported to have occurred on Monday, January 6, just before 7pm.
Properties worth thousands of Ghana Cedis are said to have been destroyed by Monday’s fire.
The scene of the fire is said to be just some few meters from a fuel station in the town.

An eyewitness disclosed that the fire started at a tailoring shop after occupants burnt debris near a wooden structure.
Firefighters were called to the scene as the fire suddenly swept through other close shops including a pharmacy shop.
The exact cause of the fire outbreak is yet to be revealed and officials say investigations have commenced.
243 fire incidents have been recorded within a spate of one week in January 2020 alone.
Public Relations Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), Ellis Robinson Okoe advised the public to ensure grown weeds are cleared around houses.
“We should avoid grown weeds around our houses around this time you realize that the weeds are dry, We need to clear all weeds in our houses. We shouldn’t park our cars near the weeds because when they are dry and the fire is coming from somewhere it can spread and gradually burn your car.”
He also called for vigilance among the public in detecting and fighting fire at the early stages.
