Sentuo Group and Eezzy Group Foundation have donated 10 fully equipped ambulances and an advanced operational pickup vehicle to the Ghana Police Service to strengthen emergency medical response, police healthcare delivery and operational logistics.

According to a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency by the donors on Saturday the donation, received by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, is expected to improve emergency transport for injured police officers and members of the public while enhancing the Service’s operational capacity.

The intervention comes at a time when increasing road crashes, population growth and pressure on emergency medical transport continue to challenge timely access to healthcare in many parts of the country.

Receiving the vehicles, the IGP expressed appreciation to Chairman Ningquan Xu of Sentuo Group and Mr Mohammed Raii of the Eezzy Group Foundation for supporting national emergency response efforts.

“We say thank you so much for this donation. These ambulances are going to be used to save lives,” he said.

Mr Yohuno said the ambulances would be deployed immediately to regions with the greatest need.

“We are going to distribute these ambulances throughout the whole country and throughout our hospitals. We will send one to Tamale in the North.”

Recalling previous operational challenges, he said the absence of emergency transport had affected emergency response in some parts of the country.

“The last time I was in Tamale, it was very difficult. Today, I can confidently tell them we now have an ambulance.”

The IGP assured the donors that the Ghana Police Service had the personnel and technical capacity to maintain and operate the fleet, saying; “We have the men and the team to take good care of them.”

He explained that while the ambulances would support the transportation of injured officers and emergency patients, the operational pickup vehicle would reinforce policing and crime-fighting activities.

“What we are seeing today is going to increase the number of vehicles to fight crime,” he said. “Fighting crime is for the people of this country.”

“The police are working very hard to make sure Ghana becomes a very safe country.”

Mr Yohuno noted that the donation would also improve access to timely medical care for officers injured during operations or taken ill while on duty. Adding, “This is what you have done to Ghana. You have assisted government to help us do our work in a safer way.”

The donation underscores the increasing contribution of private-sector organisations to strengthening public institutions and supporting national development through strategic partnerships.

According to the statement, the donors said investing in emergency healthcare and public safety was an investment in human life and reaffirmed their commitment to supporting initiatives that improve the well-being of Ghanaians.

The IGP expressed appreciation to the donors. Stressing: “Thank you, Chairman Ningquan Xu of Sentuo Group and Mr Mohammed Raii of the Eezzy Group Foundation, for this impressive and unbelievable support. It is highly appreciated.”

The Ghana Police Service said the vehicles would be deployed to strengthen emergency response, improve operational efficiency and enhance service delivery nationwide.
