Lawyer for former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo, Kwame Boafo Akuffo, has dropped a new bombshell in the Kristo Asafo succession dispute, claiming that Israel Kwadwo Safo Akofena was constitutionally removed as designated successor before the late Apostle Kwadwo Safo passed away.
According to lawyer Boafo Akuffo, the will in question was signed before amendments were made to the church’s constitution.
He noted that, at the time the will was written, Akofena was named as the next successor; however, argues that the founder himself later initiated and repealed that constitutional provision, effectively stripping Akofena of his position as crown prince.
“By the time his father was dying, Akofena was not the designated leader of the church,” Boafo Akuffo stated at a press conference.
He further explained that the amended constitution “disowns Akofena” as of the time of the Apostle’s death, rendering any claim to leadership based on the original will invalid.
The lawyer accused unnamed individuals of misleading the public with what he described as inaccurate information.
