The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is in mourning following the untimely death of Sharon Dede Padi, better known as Padiki, the visionary artist who painted her way into the Guinness World Records and into the hearts of millions.
In a heartfelt statement, the GTA described Padiki as far more than a record-breaker; she was a symbol of the “boundless potential of the Ghanaian youth.”

Her journey from a dreamer to a world-record holder served as a powerful testament to the power of hard work and creative ambition.
“Padiki inspired countless young people to believe that they could turn their passions into global achievements,” the Authority said, adding that her loss leaves a void in both the tourism and creative sectors.

The GTA’s Chief Executive, Maame Efua Houadjeto, alongside management and staff, offered prayers and strength to Padiki’s grieving family and loved ones, assuring them that her legacy is forever etched in the nation’s cultural history.
“Ours are the many questions, but God alone has the answers,” the statement concluded.

Padiki gained international acclaim for creating the largest painting by an individual, a monumental effort that showcased her extraordinary talent and unyielding spirit, inspiring a new generation of Ghanaian artists to think beyond conventional limits.
