A 15-year-old JHS 2 student is under investigation after allegedly slashing a male JHS 1 schoolmate with a cutlass during a clean-up exercise, accusing him of repeatedly touching her breasts.
The incident occurred Thursday around 4 p.m., after school had closed. The victim sustained a deep wrist wound and was treated at St. Francis Xavier Hospital before being discharged.
The victim’s family has accused school authorities of negligence, claiming the boy was left bleeding until a relative took him for care.
The Ghana Education Service has dismissed the claim, stating that a teacher who remained on campus promptly rushed the student to a CHPS compound for first aid.
District PRO Grace Ocran confirmed that investigations are ongoing to establish the facts and determine who will bear the medical costs.
