Two suspected armed robbers have been killed, and one arrested during a robbery attempt at a GCB Bank branch in the Labone district of Accra on Thursday.
According to police reports, the suspects launched their attack on the financial institution in the midday hours.
Swift intervention by security forces led to an exchange of fire, during which two of the assailants sustained fatal injuries. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
A third suspect was subdued and taken into custody without further incident. Authorities have confirmed that the suspect is currently assisting law enforcement with their inquiries.
The Police Service has assured the public that the situation is fully contained, with no casualties reported among bank staff or customers.
