An executive of the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO), Yaw Osbourne, has described curses invoked on the organization by a female artiste as useless.

Ama Rasta cursed (GHAMRO) after they failed to pay her royalties at the expected time.

The singer stormed the premises of GHAMRO with a bottle of dry gin and some eggs in hand and cursed leadership of the organization.

Ama Rasta was sent GHc 290 by the Ghana Music Rights Organization as royalties due her on Thursday, a day after she invoked the curses.

The GHAMRO National Coordinator, who reacted to Ama Rasta’s act said that the curses invoked by the musician will not work.

‘Who was it intended to affect? Who was she cursing? It is the most useless curses’, he said on Hitz FM.

Yaw Osbourne stressed that individuals don’t disburse royalties but a system handles payment.

‘It is a system that distributes the monies. There is no human being there distributing the money either physically or even writing cheques. So the system is fed with the information’, he said.

The National Coordinator revealed that the system sometimes encounters technical challenges leading to delays in disbursements.
