The Savannah Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with an alleged lynching of a young man at Daboya in the North Gonja District.
The incident was captured on video and widely circulated on social media.
The suspects have been identified as Adjei Abdulai, a 25-year-old carpenter, and Issah Mahama, a 22-year-old student.

According to a police statement issued on Wednesday, August 26, the two are currently in custody and assisting with investigations.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the victim, Yibonwura, was severely assaulted after being accused of stealing sheanuts.
He later died from the injuries he sustained during the attack.

The police have launched a manhunt for a third suspect believed to be connected to the crime and who remains at large.

The Command has assured the public that investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and to bring all persons involved to justice.
