Ghanaian artiste Kwaw Kese called out Ghana police for allowing Jamaican music star Popcaan publicly smoke marijuana in Ghana.
Hours after his post, Popcaan responded and proposed a meeting with the Ghanaian over the legalization of marijuana.
The usage of marijuana is illegal in Ghana and the smoking of such a substance in public is frowned upon.
Kwaw Kese was was arrested in 2014 and jailed in 2015 for smoking marijuana in public.
The artiste was surprised that a foreigner was allowed by the police to smoke in public without any confrontation.
Kwaw Kese reposted a video with the caption, “Only in Ghana foreigners can fuck up like this. When @kwawkese smoked in public he was arrested. So this means our law set only to control on the citizens but foreigners are free to go… the most painful part is Ghana police. None of them was able to speak the truth out because of the small coins which will be given out… Ooh Ghana”, Kwaw Kese asked his followers to discuss the issue at hand.
Responding to this, Popcaan said he was not a foreigner and requested to meet Kwaw Kese to champion the legalization of the substance.
“I’m not a foreigner bro. We all came from Africa. Don’t be mad bro. Let’s try to organize a meeting with the government to legalize weed. It’s simple #unruly,”, he commented.
Responding to the call, Kwaw Kese said he was ready to push the agenda.
