Telecommunications giant, MTN Ghana has apologised to customers all over the country for the disruption in service use, especially internet services and international phone calls.
The company started experiencing fluctuations in data service access at about 2 pm on Thursday, January 16th. As at the time of filing this report, service has still not been fully restored and this has caused an outrage amongst the millions of Ghanaians who use MTN.
MTN Ghana has blamed the disruptions on what it calls an “international undersea fiber cable cut.”
In a statement released by the Corporate Communication of MTN, it assured customers engineers were already working to resolve the problem as soon as possible.
The statement read;
“MTN wishes to apologize to subscribers across the country for challenges they are experiencing in accessing data services and international outbound calls.
This is as a result of an international undersea fiber cable cut.
Our engineers are working to resolve the challenge. We are sorry for the inconvenience caused. We apologize for the inconvenience .”
