Videos captured during Stonebwoy’s performance at the 2020 Soundcity MVP Awards gave an impression that patrons were not enthused by Stonebwoy’s presence.

While the Ghanaian music star was on stage performing, patrons could be seen standing idle in a posture that signaled cold reception from the Nigerians.

However, Stonebwoy claims his performance at the Soundcity MVP Awards held at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos was electrifying.

“I know the performance was electrifying. It was an awards night and the best was what they put there.”, he claimed in an interview on 3FM.

The artiste also mentioned that although the audience appeal was not as compared to what he receives in Ghana, it does not in any way suggest his performance at the event was poor.

“Ghanaians will continue to have this conversation every time… So many factors come to play when this conversation comes. We have to be very mindful of a lot of things to be able to continue to speak or judge. My performance was one of the best for the night”

”The people loved it but from what you saw, it’s not what will indicate as the usual Stonebwoy show would have been like. We should not be quick to jump into discussions. I understand the submission and I also expect some level of understanding from the masses.”, he added.

This is not the first time Nigerians have supposedly given Ghanaian artistes a cold reception at an event held in Nigeria.

In 2018, Stoenbwoy, Shatta Wale, Becca and some other Zylofon signees were given same treatment during a concert to introduce Menzgold in Nigeria.
