Barclays Bank denies signing Lilwin as brand ambassador

Barclays Bank Ghana, soon to be called Absa has denied and denounced actor, Kwadwo Nkansah Lilwin as a brand influencer for the Absa brand.

In a viral video circulating on social media yesterday, Lilwin was seen singing a rendition of Bosom P-Yung’s banger, Attaa Adwo in a bid to market the Absa brand.

Again, the Absa logo was seen in the promotional video, drawing everyone’s attention to its purpose. This immediately sparked a debate on social media, with most people coming at the bank for ignoring the original owner of the song and employing Lilwin to do what Bosom could have easily done.

Key among those to voice their opinion, was controversial Kwame A-Plus who vowed to fight this till the very end.

Well, Barclays Bank/Absa has issued a communique to dissociate itself from the purported viral video of Lilwin and also cautioned against the illegal use of the Absa logo.

The bank has denied commissioning the actor as an influencer and has also warned people to desist from using the bank’s logo illegally.
