The woman accused of posing as a nurse to steal a newborn from Mamprobi Hospital has been remanded into custody.
Latifa Salifu, 33, appeared before the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) District Court in Accra on Friday, February 20.
She is accused of taking a four-day-old baby boy from the postnatal ward on Tuesday, February 17, under the pretext of taking the infant for medication.
Police investigations revealed Salifu had no record of recently delivering at the hospital, contradicting her initial statement.
She is scheduled to reappear in court on March 4, 2026.
