Ada needs strategic investors for development – former DCE

Mr Rex Daniel Wussah, a former District Chief Executive (DCE) for the then Dangme East District, has underscored the need for Ada State to attract strategic investors to harness its natural resources for sustainable development.

Mr Wussah said investors such as Dr Daniel McKorley and companies like Electrochem Ghana Limited were critical to unlocking the economic potential of the area and creating long-term benefits for residents.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Kasseh, he noted that Ada was endowed with significant natural resources, which, if properly harnessed and managed, could serve as a generational asset for the people.

He described the involvement of Electrochem Ghana Limited in the revival and commercial production of salt at the Songor Lagoon as a step in the right direction, adding that the initiative reflected collaboration between government and traditional authorities to stimulate local economic growth.

The former DCE said the Songor Lagoon was expansive enough to accommodate both large-scale commercial operators and local salt producers, stressing the importance of fostering mutual understanding and cooperation to ensure peaceful coexistence.

Mr Wussah therefore, called on traditional authorities and other stakeholders to consider the concerns of local salt miners and initiate dialogue through roundtable discussions to promote peace, inclusiveness, and orderly development within the Ada State.

He further expressed his readiness to contribute to peace-building and development efforts in Ada, saying he would willingly support any initiative aimed at promoting unity and sustainable progress in the area.
