Information reaching JiveGH.com suggests that opinionated Tv and radio presenter, Valentina Nana Agyeiwaa, better known as Afia Schwarzenegger, has been arrested by personnel of the Ghana Police Service.

Sources say her arrest was caused by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of P-Mobile, Mr Phillip Brobbey, who had accused her of defamation.

Afia is currently in police custody and has apparently been served writs of summons by lawyers for Mr Brobbey.

A source at the police headquarters says Afia’s arrest is as a result of her unending hide-and-seek games with the police since she was invited to the office nearly a week ago.

At a point, A fia Schwarzenegger allegedly told the police that she was a delegate in the just-ended New Patriotic Party Parliamentary Primaries hence her inability to honour the police invitation.

However, days after the NPP Primaries passed, the actress refused to honour the invitation to the Police Headquarters, hence forcing law enforcement agencies to arrest her.

The popular actress is being dragged to court over a defamatory statement she made on Instagram about the telecommunication company and its CEO.

According to a writ by an Accra High Court, Afia is being charged for damaging statements she made against Brobbey and his company despite the latter fulfilling a contractual obligation his company had signed with Afia as brand ambassador in 2018.

The writ is demanding‘aggravated or exemplary damages in the sum of GHS 500,000 plus publication of retraction across all of Afia’s social media pages.

The comedienne has also been served with a restraining order against making such defamatory remarks about Brobbey and or his company in the future.
