Israel Kwadwo Safo Akofena has been officially confirmed as the successor to the late Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka’s estate and the leadership of the Kantanka Empire, following the reading of the founder’s will at the Accra High Court on Monday, July 6, 2026.
The court’s confirmation brings legal clarity to the contentious succession battle that has gripped the Kristo Asafo Mission and the wider Kantanka conglomerate since the apostle’s passing.
Speaking to journalists after the proceedings, Kristo Asafo Mission member Richard Brown, widely known as Osebo the Zaraman, publicly endorsed the decision, pledging his full cooperation with both the family and Akofena.
“If our father decided to leave all his properties to Akofena, I have no reason to object,” Brown stated.
“During my previous press conference, I said he always valued peace. If his will clearly states that everything belongs to Akofena, then I have no choice but to respect that decision.”
The confirmation follows recent remarks by former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, who has consistently maintained that her late father left behind a valid will to govern his estate.
She has previously argued that public discourse has mischaracterised the dispute, insisting that the real contention is not over ownership of assets but rather the implementation of the final directives contained in the will.
However, the succession process has been marred by deep divisions within both the family and the mission.
Tensions escalated recently following a shooting incident at Akofena’s residence, which left Sarah Adwoa Safo in critical condition.
Family sources indicate plans are underway to fly her abroad for further medical treatment.
