Akufo-Addo hasn’t given me money to speak for him – Medikal to critics

Rapper Medikal has told his critics that he has not been paid to speak on behalf of President Akufo-Addo.

The artist had defended Akufo-Addo following attacks on him for his silence on the ongoing violent clashes in Nigeria.

He had asked his colleagues calling on the President of Ghana who doubles as the ECOWAS Chairman to make a statement in the fight to end the brutalities in Nigeria not to put pressure on Akufo-Addo.

Medikal argued that the fact that the President had not made a public statement does not mean that he is doing nothing about the issue in Nigeria.

He said Akufo-Addo should not be blamed for the incompetence of another country’s leader which has caused the EndSARS protests.

In a recent video, Medikal denied ever receiving money from any Ghanian politician including President Akufo-Addo.

“I am not a politician; I don’t support any party. I am just a citizen in a country which is governed by a group of people and I respect that.”

“Akufo-Addo has never given me a cedi, John Mahama has never given me even 2gh. Nobody has ever given me money, I never ‘chop’ any politician money before in my career… I am not going to lie about it because it has never happened”, he said.
