Akufo-Addo orders lockdown in Greater Accra, Greater Kumasi

President Akufo-Addo has ordered a lockdown in some towns in Greater Accra and Ashanti Region.

The lockdown commences on March 30, 2020 in the listed regions and is expected to last for two weeks.

Providers of essentially services such as pharmaceutical companies, healthcare personnel, providers of food and others have been exempted.

The Judiciary, Legislature and the Executive arms of government have also been exempted.

President Akufo-Addo also said that individuals in the lockdown areas can only step out to get medicine, food, water and other essential commodities.

So far Ghana has recorded 137 confirmed coronavirus cases.

President Akufo-Addo revealed that two people have recovered after getting infected.

Out of the number, four have lost their lives as at March 27.

The lastest to die is father of Obour, former President of the Musicians Union of Ghana.
