Highlife musician Dada KD has revealed that the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo once gave himself and deceased Kofi B some money to support their music.
Speaking in an interview, Dada KD revealed the President after the 2016 election ordered one of his people to give him GHS7000 to shoot a music video.
Dada KD explained that the money received from the President had nothing to do with campaigning for him during the last Elections in 2016.
It was given to them according to the President’s own will. He said Akufo-Addo just instructed Eugene Arhin who is the Director of Communications at the presidency to give him the amount in question.
“I didn’t go to Nana Akufo-Addo to say that ‘I’ve endorsed you so give me money.’ I went with Kofi B and he [Nana Akufo-Addo] willingly asked us whether we will need something small for the song we made,” Dada KD said.
“I told him we want to do a video for the song and then he made Eugene Arhin give us a little money, not money that we were going to use to live our lives or buy a car. He gave us GHS7000 for our video…”
