Colonel Isaac Amponsah, President Akufo-Addo’s Aide-de-Camp (ADC), has been reported to be in stable condition after he collapsed during the President’s final State of the Nation Address in Parliament on Friday, January 3, 2025. Standing just behind the President, Col. Amponsah unexpectedly fainted midway through the speech but was promptly attended to by medical personnel at the scene.
According to sources, the ADC simply felt dizzy and was discharged later in the day. Before assuming his current position—taking over from his predecessor, Bismark Onwona, who was promoted to Major General—Col. Amponsah served as an instructor at the Military Training Academy and worked with the Defence Intelligence Unit of the Ghana Armed Forces. After the incident, he was transferred to the 37 Military Hospital in Accra for additional observation.
In response to speculation about Col. Amponsah’s condition, a spokesperson from the Jubilee House described the rumors as unfounded, emphasizing that the ADC is fit and in good health.
