All Schools under trees in Adaklu will be provided with decent classroom blocks – Adaklu

Mr Jerry Yao Ameko, Adaklu District Chief Executive (DCE) has announced that the Assembly was working assiduously to provide all schools under trees in the district with decent classroom blocks.

He said as a result, six-classroom blocks have been completed and handed over to six communities since he assumed work as DCE for the area.

Mr Ameko made the announcement in his address at the 41st Farmers Day celebration at Adaklu Tsriefe.
The Day was on the theme: “Feed Ghana, Eat Ghana, Secure the Future.”

Mr Ameko who is also the Dean of Volta Region MDCEs, mentioned the beneficiary community schools as Adaklu Sofa, Adaklu Kpeleho, Adaklu Have, Adaklu Kpatovoe, Adaklu Avelebe, and Adaklu Ablornu Basic schools.

He noted that a three-unit classroom block was being put up for Adaklu Ablornu Basic School whilst a three and two-unit classroom blocks were also under construction for Adaklu Kpodzi and Adaklu Wumenu Kindergartens respectively.

The DCE said a new state of the art office block for the District National Health Insurance Authority was almost completed and would soon be commissioned.

Some other ongoing projects in the district were a 10-unit water closet toilet at the Adaklu Waya Animal market, a Community Health Planning Services (CHPS) Compound and nurse’s quarters at Adaklu Kpeleho and the upgrading of the CHPS Compound at Adaklu Kpetsu.

Mr Ameko stated that in order to help solve the acute water problem facing some communities in the district, especially during the dry season, five new boreholes were being dug and 11 old ones were also being rehabilitated.

He noted that all these were being done in collaboration with Mr Governs Kwame Agbodza, Minister of Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Adaklu.

The DCE told the people that a number of roads in the district were covered in the government’s Big Push agenda and urged them to exercise restraint.

He assured them that “the President Mahama led government would never forget Adaklu when distributing the national cake.”

A traditional ruler, Togbe Amegashie VII, Chief of Adaklu Seva, was adjudged the best district farmer and was given a tricycle, knapsack spraying machines, wellington boots, machetes, agro chemicals and a certificate among others.
