American pop musician and actor, Major R. Johnson Finley, simply known as Major, has joined the tall list of global figures who have participated in the ‘Year of Return’.

The Grammy nominated artiste shared a video on his Instagram page on Friday to show he was in Kumasi, a city in Ghana.

‘Love from Ghana. #MAJORinGhana #YearOfReturn#KhloeKares’, he captioned his post.

The ‘Why I Love You’ hit maker joined American actress Khloe Kares in Ghana to undertake some charity projects in Kumasi.

Major was spotted interacting with some students and asked them to say ‘ hello America we love you’.

Major joins the likes of Cardi B, Steve Harvey, Naomi Campbell, rapper TI, Samuel L. Jackson and a host of other celebrities to visit Ghana for the ‘Year of Return’.

The “Year of Return, Ghana 2019” is a major landmark spiritual and birth-right journey inviting the Global African family, home and abroad, to mark 400 years of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in Jamestown, Virginia.

The arrival of enslaved Africans marked a sordid and sad period, when some Africans suffered years of deprivation, humiliation and torture.

While August 2019 marks 400 years since enslaved Africans arrived in the United States, “The Year of Return, Ghana 2019” celebrates the cumulative resilience of all the victims of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade who were scattered and displaced through the world in North America, South America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.

Major performed at the Ikes Cafe and Grill in Kumasi on Friday, December 13,2019.
