Every artist yearns for a great and big fan base to support his or her music and activities.

Those who have big fan bases usually brag about it and sometimes look down on those who don’t.

Ghanaian Dancehall act, J.Derobie, has stressed the importance of fan bases to artists.

In an interview on Happy 98.9FM’s ‘Ayekoo After Drive’, J.Derobie said artists don’t get fans for free but they buy them.

“You do not get the fans at once. But you buy them with talent and love. By and by they grow in number,” he said.

The young artist was grateful for the support of his fans since his breakthrough in 2019.

“Fans and supporters have supported me from day one (1) and are still supporting me”, he added.

J.Derobie is currently promoting his new EP, ‘Nungua Diaries’.

The project was inspired by his life experiences growing up in Nungua.
