Asamoah Gyan scores 3rd goal in India

Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan scored on his return from injury as his side, NorthEast United played out a 2-2 draw against Mumbai FC in the Indian top-flight on Wednesday afternoon.

It was his third goal since joining the club as a free agent this season.

The 34-year-old pulled parity for the side after the visitors went 2-1 up in the India Super League.

Panagiotis Triadis opened the scoring for the home side in the 9th minute before Amine Chermiti scored twice in the 22nd and 32nd minute at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati.

Gyan saved the blushes of the home side with the leveller on 42 minutes.

The former Sunderland great has been in fine form but was overlooked by Kwesi Appiah when he invited players for doubleheader 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against South Africa and São Tomé and Príncipe.
