The king of the Asante kingdom, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has been award with the Pillar of Peace Award.

His majesty received this award for his relentless and majestic leadership in the successful peace process in Dagbon and other important disputes, during his 20-year reign.
This recognition was given to the King at the maiden African Premier Leadership Awards held in Kumasi on December 29th, 2019.

The awards ceremony was organised by International Centre for the Promotion of Human Rights (CIPDH Africa) in collaboration with E ON 3 Group, a Ghanaian Business Solutions Provider based in Accra and graced by many dignitaries, including former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Receiving the award, His majesty responded saying, the recognition was an honour to Asanteman and the other eminent chiefs who worked tirelessly for peace to return to Dagbon.

He also recognised the roles played by successive governments for Dagbon to have peace.

His majesty gave the assurance that his palace will continue to support the event organisers to help make the awards ceremony, a success.
