Ashanti regional NADMO supports fire victims

The Ashanti Regional National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) directorate on Monday, February 2, 2026, disbursed an undisclosed amount of money to support about 100 business owners who were affected by the recent fire disasters in the region.

‎The gesture by the government aims to encourage and help traders recover from their losses and give them hope for the future.

‎The beneficiaries were those affected by fire incidents, which occurred in the early part of the year and last year, especially the blue light and the SofoLine interchange.

‎Alhaji Mohammed Nasir Ibrahim, the Ashanti regional NADMO Director, making the presentation, noted that the gesture aimed to alleviate the suffering of the affected traders and help them rebuild their businesses.

‎Alhaji Nasir took the opportunity to educate businesspeople about fire outbreaks and how they could get together to solve this problem in the markets.

‎He pleaded with them to support the Operation Stop Fire Disaster (OSFiD), which is led by the Ashanti Regional NADMO Taskforce in collaboration with the Fire Service, EPA, NPA, and Standard Authority.

‎He noted that the OSFiD was currently carrying out an inspection in the various markets in the capital city and called for their support and cooperation.

‎Some of the beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the Regional Minister, Dr Frank Amoakohene and the NDC government for their timely intervention.
