Excitement is building up at the Assin Manso Senior High School (AMASS) as staff, students, and alumni intensify preparations ahead of the school’s 60th anniversary celebration scheduled from Monday, November 24 to Sunday 30, 2025.
The celebration, themed; “Sixty Years of Impactful and Inspirational Education: The Role of Stakeholders,” is expected to draw distinguished personalities, old students, and traditional leaders from across the country to commemorate the school’s rich history and achievements since its establishment in 1965.
In the weeks leading up to the grand event, the campus has been a hive of activities.
The management in collaboration with the Old Students Association (AMOSU), has launched a series of clean-up exercises, and awareness campaigns to ensure a successful celebration.
Several facilities, including classroom blocks, dormitories, and the school’s science laboratories, are currently undergoing renovation as part of efforts to give the school a facelift before the big day.
Mr Eric Nyarkoh, the Headmaster, expressed his delight at the level of enthusiasm among students and the alumni.
He said the anniversary marked a significant milestone in the school’s academic journey of excellence and moral discipline.
“This anniversary is not just about celebrating the past; it is also about envisioning the future. We are proud of how far Assin Manso SHS has come, and we want to use this occasion to rekindle our commitment to quality education,” he stated.
He hinted that the Old Students Association had pledged to support the event with developmental projects, and that various committees had been formed to coordinate cultural displays, sports competitions, exhibitions, and thanksgiving services, as part of the week-long celebration.
Some of the students expressed their excitement as preparations intensified, saying they were proud to be part of the historical moment.
“The school means a lot to us, and we can’t wait to showcase our talents during the anniversary,” a first-year student remarked.
As Assin Manso SHS counts down to its diamond jubilee, the entire Assin community is buzzing with anticipation, eager to honour the institution that has shaped countless lives over six decades of educational excellence.
