Avoid envy and seek righteous living – Rev Gbetsi urges Christians

Reverend Noah Gbetsi, Kadjebi District Pastor of the Apostle Revelation Society (ARS) Church, has admonished Christians and the public to shun envy and refrain from actions that could lead to the downfall of others.

He said envy remained a destructive trait capable of driving individuals to engage in acts that undermine unity, peace, and personal spiritual growth.

Rev. Gbetsi cited the betrayal of Jesus Christ by Judas Iscariot, explaining that the act was fuelled by envy and selfish motives, which ultimately led to dire consequences.

Delivering his Easter Sunday sermon at the church’s chapel at Tadzewu Kpodzi, a suburb of Kadjebi, the District Pastor urged the congregation to cultivate love, humility, and goodwill towards one another.

He encouraged Christians to remain steadfast in doing good at all times, assuring them that their efforts would yield abundant rewards in due season.

Quoting from Luke 24:1–12 and Matthew 28:1–15, Rev. Gbetsi emphasised the significance of the resurrection of Jesus Christ, noting that it symbolised hope, victory, and perseverance in the face of trials.

He further charged the congregation to persevere through life’s challenges, expressing optimism that enduring faith and righteous living would lead to divine blessings.

Rev. Gbetsi concluded by calling on believers to uphold values that promote harmony in their communities, especially during the Easter season, which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
