Ghanaian dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has stated that the ban on celebrities from advertising for certain firms and businesses in Ghana is not likely to affect him.
Speaking in a self-recorded video that has hit the internet, the dancehall king says it is about time celebrities in Ghana put on a united front in order to fight these bodies making their lives ‘hard’.
According to Shatta Wale, the new directive from the Gaming Commission that bans celebrities from advertising for betting companies won’t have any impact on him but others.
A press statement from the Gaming Commission says “Operators shall not use celebrities in their advertisements to entice the general public to gamble. To ensure the new guideline is followed all advertisement must be approved by the commission to help protect not only underage persons but the interests of punters, customers and stakeholders,” the statement read.
