Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, the Member of Parliament for the Banda constituency in the Bono Region has pledged to ensure that no school holds classes under trees in the constituency.
He said: “Efforts are far advanced to eliminate all schools under trees within the next two years,” saying the government was also creating more job opportunities for the youth.
The MP said the Senior High Schools in the area would also benefit from infrastructure development, adding that preparations for the construction of a 24-hour economy market in the district was also progressing.
Mr Ibrahim, also the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs gave the pledge when he interacted with some of the constituents during his visit to Banda-Ahenkro, the constituency capital and added that very soon construction work on an AstroTurf project in the area would also commence.
“The youth will be given the chance to work and contribute their quota to progressive development because the government is gradually creating job opportunities for them,” he stated.
Mr Ibrahim later presented 1,500 bags of 25-kilogram rice, and 1,000 pieces of wax print to some women in the constituency and also donated two motorbikes and roofing sheets to three people in the area.
Hajia Adizatu Seidu, the Banda Constituency Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), called on the women to support the MP in the efforts to bring the development of the constituency to the next level.
