Reigning Ghana DJ Awards ‘Best Highlife DJ’, Oyokodehye Kofi is celebrating his birthday on August 12, with a clarion call for the prioritization of Highlife music.
The Accra FM presenter and DJ called on his colleagues to promote the genre that inspired other music forms.
Before his birthday, Oyokodehye Kofi had declared the month of August as Highlife month.
“From 1st August to 31st August…I am using my birth month to promote Highlife music in Ghana. So I am urging my fellow DJs and presenters who will celebrate my birthday to play Highlife music…Let’s promote Highlife music predominantly for one month and let’s see the impact”, he said on his show, Highlife Time on Accra FM.
Oyokodehye Kofi, born Eric Owusu Gyimah, is an astute media personality and businessman.
In November 2019, he was adjudged ‘Best Highlife DJ’ for the second time in a row.
Oyokodehye Kofi is also the host of Highlife Time on CTV.
