All hopes of Ghanaian fans to see Beyoncé perform in Ghana or just visit the country for ‘Year of Return’ have been dashed.

This is because, mother of the American singer, Tina Knowles-Lawson, has revealed that the singer is not in Ghana as being speculated and might not visit for the celebrations.

Her mother, who is already in Ghana on a private visit and to also have a feel of the ‘Year of Return’ activities, said her daughter is seeing to motherly duties back in the U.S.

“She’s at home. She’s with her babies,” Knowles-Lawson told Essence.

Pictures of Beyoncé at different locations in Ghana with Jay-Z have been shared on social media to claim that the songstress was in the country.

From the submission by Tina Knowles-Lawson, it appears all these claims are false.

Earlier, her publicist , Yvette Noel-Schure, dismissed those rumours outright, saying: “This is not true.”

Noel-Schure stressed that “Beyoncé is not performing in Ghana this weekend,” adding, “To all who have returned ‘home’, have the most beautiful time.”

In spite of Beyoncé’s absence, stars like Steve Harvey, Nicole Ari Parker, Ludacris, Rick Ross, Diggy Simmons, Micheal Jai White, and Bozoma Saint John have been among a host of celebrities to have spent a significant part of their month in Ghana.
