Beyonce’s mum Tina Knowles-Lawson visits Ghana

The final days of the ‘Year of Return’ celebrations in Ghana might bring greater surprises than expected.

On Friday, December 27, mother of Beyonce, Tina Knowles-Lawson, arrived in Ghana.

News of her presence went viral after a photo of Tina Knowles-Lawson and a Ghana Airport staff surfaced online.

Hours later, she posted on Instagram that she was indeed in Ghana for the Full Circle Festival which forms part of the ‘Year of Return’ activities.

‘We are in Ghana!!!! Our first night at the Full Circle Festival! Last Year Boris And Nicole Kodjoe were asked to bring over African American friends to celebrate The anniversary of the 400 years to commemorate and honor the anniversary of 400 years ago when the first slaves were captured into slavery’, she posted.

Beyonce’s mother was excited to have joined other public figures for the celebrations in Ghana.

‘This year they teamed up with the awesome former owner of Sundial and Essence Richieluie Dennis and this year we got to come.. Thank you Latraviette , Emmett ! We are so happy to be here ❤️loved tonight’, she added.

Tina Knowles-Lawson arrived in Ghana the same day American rapper Ludacris visited the Elmina Castle in the Central Region.

Her visit has deepened speculations that Beyonce might soon arrive in Ghana.
