President John Dramani Mahama will on Tuesday, October 21, conduct a groundbreaking ceremony for the commencement of construction works on the dualisation of the Takoradi-Cape Coast highway.

A statement issued by the Presidency said this would form part of activities during the President’s one-day working visit to the Western region.

It said the project, captured under the ‘Big Push’, initiative, was one of the thirty-two major roads listed in the 2025 mid-year budget review.

It said the long-awaited expansion of the corridor forms part of government’s broader national agenda to revamp infrastructure and stimulate economic growth to attract the needed investment for jobs and development of the country.

The statement said President Mahama was expected to inspect ongoing expansion, and renovation works at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital and the Western Regional Hospital.
