Pastor turned economist-in-the making, Reverend Obofuor has blamed the depreciation of the Ghana Cedi against major trading currencies on churched and how they manage their finances.
The founder and leader of Anointed Chapel International, Francis Antwi, better known as Reverend Obofuor has advised Ghanaians to stop blaming Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the depreciation of the cedi.
To the best of his knowledge, most churches in Ghana change all money received for the day into foreign currency, before saving it away.
He said, “With this, there is always instability because if government works on stabilising the cedi during the week, the Churches after doing their transfers make the cedi weak again.”
Rev Obofour noted that the Church has been the source of Ghana’s economic woes for a long time and advised his fellow pastors to desist from such evil acts so that Ghana can develop.
