Reports have it that, Alhassan Yussif Ayuba, Bole District Electoral Commission (EC) Officer, and his driver, Basiru Kojo have died in a road accident in Kusawgu in the Northern Region.
According to reports, the two were travelling Tamale to pick up electoral materials for the upcoming district level elections, being organised by the Electoral Commission.
Eyewitnesses say, there seem to be some confusion on the road and Mr Alhassan’s driver miscalculated distance between their car and a parked vehicle, which resulted in the fatal car crash.
Mr Alhassan’s family has since left for Tamale upon hearing the alleged tragic news.
Until his reassignment to Bole, Mr Alhassan was the Deputy Public Relations Officer at the EC Head Office in Accra.
