The Bosuso Youth Association in the Fanteakwa South District has honoured Dr. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, former Eastern Regional Minister in recognition of his immense contributions to development and youth empowerment in the district.
The association aims to champion development in the area.
At the inaugural ceremony of an 11-member committee of the Bosuso Youth Association, Mr. Maxwell Narh, the outgoing President of the Association, presented a citation of honour to Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo for his lifelong commitment to public service and sustainable support for the Bosuso community in terms of development and youth empowerment.

The citation praised Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo’s exemplary leadership from his early days as the District Chief Executive of Fanteakwa through his various ministerial and party leadership roles.
It highlighted his mentorship, dedication to youth development, community empowerment, personal support, and several advocacies that had strengthened local capacity and inspired young leaders.
Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo, who is now the Presidential Advisor at the Office of the Vice President, and Board Chairman of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) had served as the former Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa constituency, former Local Government Minister, and Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
In his response, Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo expressed gratitude to the association for recognizing his efforts and donated GH₵5,000 to support its activities.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing development in Bosuso, particularly in the areas of education, youth empowerment, and community infrastructure.
He disclosed that “ efforts are ongoing to establish a Senior High School in Bosuso, just as the neighbouring towns such as Bofor, Osino, Tafo, Osiem, and Nsutem have Senior High Schools. ”
He said, ” Surveyors have been deployed to assess the District Assembly school to explore the feasibility of upgrading it into a Senior High School. ”
The Former Minister assured residents that measures were being put in place to ensure the completion of the long-abandoned Bosuso Community Centre, describing it as a priority project.
The inaugural ceremony of the 11-member committee was attended by traditional leaders, government officials, political figures, and residents to underscore the community’s appreciation for Dr. Ofosu-Ampofo’s contributions and their shared commitment to development.
