Students fo the Vuipe Senior High School have been asked by the Ghana Education Service (GES) to go home after they lost all their personal belongings in a fire on Monday, February 3rd, 2020.
Kanzoni Donald, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Northern Region, in a communique said the decision has become necessary because both students and the school have lost nearly all academic and personal items.

According to reports, the fire started around 7 am in the girls’ dormitory on Monday morning whilst the students were in class. The cause of the fire is still yet to be ascertained.
Sources say, there was no intervention of any kind from by the school or the Ghana Nationa Fire Service (GNFS) hence leading to the complete destruction of the school building by the fire.

Authorities say students could have salvaged some of their property but the fire could not be controlled in time because of the Ghana National Fire Service’s delay in reaching the site.
The GNFS attributed their delay to the breakdown of the fire tender in the community.
