Radio presenter and musician, Blakk Rasta, is against the establishment of an airport in Cape Coast by the government.
During his show on Zylofon FM recently he spoken against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s decision to construct an airport at Cape Coast in the Central Region.
Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia had announced that the Central Regional capital – Cape Coast will for the first time see the construction of a harbour and an airport.
Addressing party members on Saturday, August 22, 2020, in Cape Coast, Dr. Bawumia described the projects as ‘critical’ in boosting tourism and development in the Central Region.
“We will accelerate our investments in roads, railways and ports. And for the people of Cape Coast, I have good news for you. We are building a new harbour in Cape Coast and a new airport in Cape Coast”, he said.
However, Blakk Rasta argued that there is an airport at Takoradi which is very close to Cape Coast.
He explained that from Cape Coast to Takoradi is just an hour drive, so, the building of a new airport at Cape Coast is not necessary.
The presenter urged leadership of the New Patriotic Party to pursue development projects with wisdom.
