Sarkodie and Castro’s song titled ‘Adonai’ has clocked over 70 million views on YouTube.
This extends the music video’s title as the most viewed Ghanaian music video in history on the search engine.
Reacting to the news, US-based Ghanaian social media influencer Archipalago has said Castro’s death helped Sarkodie.
According to him, the death of Castro help boost views of Sarkodie’s ‘Adonai’ song.
The music video for ‘Adonai’ was released in June 2014 and Castro disappeared in July 2014.
“The sudden death of Castro played a major part in the #Adonai views on YouTube! No disrespect to Bidi tho!”, Archipalago tweeted.
He stated that he is not trying to discredit Sarkodie but when Castro’s disappearance was captured by foreign media outlets, those who didn’t know Castro, watched the music video.
”Don’t me wrong!!! If I’m not mistaken! That video was the last Castro did before his untimely death and it came during that mysterious death. People who don’t know him viewed the video just to recognize him and that played a major role in the YouTube views till now #Adonai.”, he added.
Theophilus Tagoe popularly known as Castro disappeared after he was reported to have drowned on July 6, 2014.
