Chief Imam urges Muslim to pray for sustained peace amid US/Israel and Iran war  

Sheikh Zakaria Ibrahim, the Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Imam in the Bono Region has urged Muslims to continue praying for national and global peace, amid United States/Israel and Iran.  

He said the nation needed to sustain its prevailing peace for development to thrive, asking them to always pray for people in leadership positions to make the right decisions for the nation.  

Sheikh Ibrahim reminded Muslims that due to insecurity some of the Muslim brothers and sisters elsewhere were not observing the Eid-Ul-Fitr which remained an important event on the Islamic calendar.   He advised them to eschew negative practices and behaviours like false witnessing, dishonesty, urging them to stand against all forms of evil and social ills to enable them to attract Allah’s blessings.

Sheikh Ibrahim gave the advice when he addressed hundreds of Muslims to mark the Eid-Ul-Fitr celebration at Dromaa-Ahenkro.  

He said the Ramadan was a period for all Muslims reflect and amend their evil ways, urging them to conduct themselves responsibly and to also show love and compassion to others, reminding them that they would one day give accounts of their lives.  

Mr Ibrahim advised them to work hard to acquire genuine wealth, stressing that: “You aren’t in competition with anybody and don’t be tempted to do wrong”.  

He said an amount of GHC555,023 was realized at the just ended Ramadan conference held at Amasu in the municipality, explaining that about GHC30,898 was recorded as an expenditure.  
Baffour Oppong Asare, the Akyeamehene (sub-chief) of the Dormaa Traditional Area condemned indecent dressing among Muslim youth in the area and advised Muslim families to endeavour to monitor the dressing of the youth.  

He cautioned the youth in the area against the temptation to engage in illegal mining and other social vices.    
Mr John Kwame Adu Jack, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Dormaa Central Constituency said the government remained dedicated to cut down cost on Muslim pilgrimage and appealed to them to continue to pray for global peace amid US/Israel and Iran war.

The MP pledged to provide 100 bags of cement to support the construction of the Senior High School (SHS) project at Sromani in the municipality.
