Ghanaian boxer, Richard Commey, has lost his IBF Lightweight title after a humiliating defeat to Honduran-American boxer, Teofimo Lopez.

Just two rounds were enough for Teofimo Lopez to knock out Richard Commey in an unexpected turn of events.

The Ghanaian boxer suffered severe punches in the hands of his opponent at the Madison Square Garden in New York.

Though Commey stumbled and regained his composure after some punches in the second round, he looked unfit to continue the bout thus forcing the referee to stop the fight.

Teofimo Lopez has been undefeated in 14 fights with 11 knockouts so far.

He managed to land 31 out of 35 punches to end Richard Commey’s reign as IBF Lightweight champion.

Honduran-American has now earned a shot at a unification bout against Vasyl Lomachenko.
