A philanthropic couple based in New Botianor, Mr. and Mrs. Cosmos Gyan, have donated two delivery beds to the Adzonkor Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound in the Agortime-Ziope District of the Volta Region.
The donation was made at a ceremony held at the facility.
Mrs. Grace Gyan, who presented the items on behalf of her husband, stated that the gesture was in celebration of their birthdays.
She explained that rather than spending it on a party, they chose to contribute to maternal healthcare in underserved communities.
“This is our personal way of giving back. While we appreciate the government’s efforts, we believe that individuals must also step in to help bridge the healthcare gap,” she said.
Torgbui Satsi III, the Chief of Adzonkor, expressed his gratitude to the couple for their consistent support to the community and the CHPS compound.
He recalled that previous donations included a thermometer, blood pressure apparatus, weighing scale, a 32-inch television set, and various medical supplies.
He urged staff at the facility to handle the items with care to ensure their longevity.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the facility, Ms. Bernice Tokamey, Senior Community Health Nurse, conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the couple and prayed for divine blessings upon them.
“We are truly grateful and will ensure that these beds are put to good use in serving our mothers and newborns,” she added.
