Ghanaian artiste, D-Black has openly complained about the high cost of accommodation evacuated Ghanaians are expected to foot upon return to Ghana.
The Government of Ghana has begun an evacuation exercise to allow Ghanaians stranded in order countries, to come home safely.
Information available suggests, those being evacuated are expected to cover the cost of their flight tickets back home and are also expected to pay for the hotel accommodation for their 14-day mandatory quarantine when they arrive.
The bill for their accommodation is estimated to be between GHS 17,000 and GHS 24,000, depending on the kind of accommodation the individual desires.
This, according to D-Black, is expensive and most of the evacuees cannot afford it.
He would, therefore, like for the government to take a second look at this and find ways of making it more affordable.
He took to Twitter to write;
The Prez @NAkufoAddo & The Government really needs to look at this, the majority of Ghanaians stranded in the USA can not afford to spend 17,000 ghc (Economy , 3 star hotel) – 24,000 ghc ( Business , 5 star hotel) for 14 days just to make it home in the next 10 days…
